Social Security Bootcamp for New Practitioners (Presented by the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives)

This foundational session covers the entire Social Security disability journey, from understanding SSDI and SSI eligibility requirements through federal court appeals. Participants will learn the five-step sequential evaluation process, RFC determinations, hearing procedures, and key filing logistics at each administrative level.

This session provides real-world guidance on fee agreements, electronic file access through ARS and ARPS systems, and payment processing procedures. Representatives will gain practical knowledge on evidence submission requirements, the five business day rule, and troubleshooting common administrative challenges.

Explore advanced claim challenges including return to work programs like Ticket to Work and Trial Work Periods, as well as Continuing Disability Reviews. This session also addresses overpayment issues, appeal strategies versus new applications, and special considerations for maintaining client benefits.
