Dr. Stroot and Ms. Cha explore how prolonged sitting and poor posture impact lawyers’ mental clarity, physical health, and cognitive function. They connect these physiological effects to ethical obligations under the Rules of Professional Conduct, including competence, diligence, and communication requirements. The discussion concludes with actionable strategies such as the Pomodoro method, block calendaring, and movement integration that attorneys can implement immediately.
Attendees engage with the presenters through questions addressing practical implementation of wellness strategies in legal practice. Topics include how supervising attorneys can sensitively address well-being issues with junior colleagues and create supportive firm policies. The session concludes with final takeaways on establishing sustainable wellness practices as professional responsibility.
