Aaron Bakken’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and arbitration, primarily on issues related to construction law. Mr. Bakken has extensive experience representing owners, developers, design professionals and contractors with regards to complex construction issues, including construction defect and mechanics’ lien foreclosure claims.
Mr. Bakken represents both plaintiffs and defendants in construction disputes. He has significant experience before federal and state courts, the American Arbitration Association, and the Judicial Arbiter Group.
Mr. Bakken has tried in excess of construction twelve cases to verdict, including one of the five largest verdicts in Colorado in 2018. He has also taken six arbitration hearings to entry of award, several of which resulted in awards to his clients in excess of $10M.
Mr. Bakken also provides legal and tactical guidance to his clients for new construction projects, as well as for repair and remediation projects. Multiple of the repair and remediation projects exceed $50M in value.
Mr. Bakken received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2005 and his B.A. in Political Science from St. Cloud State University in 2001. Mr. Bakken is licensed to practice in Colorado, Illinois and several U.S. District Courts throughout the country.
