He is an expert in diversity, and has taught continuing legal education courses in, and written articles on, diversity. He has served throughout the United States as a speaker on issues of diversity in the legal profession. Mr. Ashton is a member of Character and Fitness Committee for the Maryland Bar. He is a past recipient of the NAACP Civil Rights Champions Award. His firm, Baxter, Baker, Sidle, Conn & Jones is full service law firm. His practice involves representation of individuals and corporations in lawsuits involving, contract disputes, real estate disputes, torts, class actions, consumer protection statutes, shareholders’ rights and fiduciary duties of officers and directors. He also represents and advises educational and religious institutions and their Boards. Mr. Ashton formerly was partner at DLA Piper LLP (US), where he headed the Diversity and & Inclusion Committee for its Baltimore offices.
Tonya Baña, Esq. is a seasoned employment attorney with more than a dozen years’ experience handling employment-related legal matters. A Baltimore native and proud graduate of Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County, Tonya received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard and her law degree from Stanford. After spending nearly a decade counseling and defending employers at two of the most well respected employment groups in the Baltimore-Washington area, Tonya started her own law practice to provide the same high-quality legal representation to individuals who have been victims of workplace discrimination or other civil rights violations.
