Kelly R. Graf_ Dentons_myLawCLEKelly R. Graf  | Dentons

Kelly R. Graf is a member of Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Kelly defends companies in consumer class actions, complex litigation, and related regulatory actions. She has consistently achieved successful results for clients in high stakes disputes in a variety of fields, including the insurance, financial services, and consumer products industries.

Kelly has extensive experience in life and disability insurance litigation as well as insurance coverage litigation across various lines of insurance, including professional liability and commercial general liability insurance. Her practice includes defense of bad faith claim and declaratory judgment actions, as well as consumer claims regarding loss of insurance, sales practices, and cost of insurance, and agent misconduct claims.

Her class action defense practice spans numerous industries and types of claims. Her practice includes defense of clients in class actions alleging violations of California Invasion of Privacy Act claims under Penal Code §§ 631 and 632 and frequently presents continuing legal education courses concerning developments in privacy litigation. Kelly also represents clients in the food and beverage, diet and nutrition and personal care product industries in product labeling and advertising class actions, as well as provides them with pre-litigation risk management advice on potential labeling changes or advertising campaigns. In addition, Kelly has also defended numerous class actions alleging violations of California’s Automatic Renewal Law and uses her deep knowledge of that statute to advise companies on potential class action risks relating to automatically renewing subscription services.

Pro bono representation is a key part of Kelly’s practice. She is passionate about representing survivors of domestic violence. She has won three appeals of trial court decisions denying orders of protection to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including one that resulted in en banc, precedent-setting opinion that is routinely cited by domestic violence advocates. The Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago named her a Volunteer of the Year in 2016.
