Thomas L. Her one year externship at the Georgia Justice Project involved handling criminal defense cases for indigent clients. She also participated in the H.E.L.P. Legal Services Clinic, providing direct legal services to low-income children and their families. While in law school, she volunteered for the Street Law program, designed to introduce high school students to the legal profession as well as foster a positive attitude towards the law through activities such as mock mediations and trials.
