Richard K. Leefe has been practicing for 49 years and has handled legal matters in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. He taught at Loyola College of Law for 26 years teaching Evidence, Negotiable Instruments and Legal Research and Writing. After graduating from LSU with a degree in Engineering, he served in the US Army as an officer and commanded a company in Vietnam during that war. He has a JD from Loyola College of Law and an LLM in International Commercial Law from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen Scotland. He has also taught American law and US Federal Rules of Evidence to Chinese law students at Huazhong University in Wuhan China. He has authored the Lexis Nexis publications of Louisiana Code of Evidence Practice Guide and Louisiana Jury Instructions: Civil and Criminal. He is a senior partner in the firm of Leefe | Gibbs in the New Orleans area. He is married to Barat Leefe and has four children and eight grandchildren.
