Terminating the attorney-client relationship is fraught with ethical pitfalls. Lawyers must balance their duties to the client (both as current and former clients), to the court, and to the justice system, with their own professional and financial interest. This program will explore situations that may warrant or require withdrawal, lawyers ethical duties in such situations, and protecting lawyers’ own rights in connection with withdrawing from representation.

Randall T. Tesser is an associate attorney at Tesser, Ryan & Rochman. Mr. Tesser obtained a Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2017 where he also received a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University.
Mr. Tesser primarily practices in, and frequently lectures on, professional responsibility matters, and has experience with administrative proceedings and appeals, trust and estate planning and administration, business contracts, and mediation.
Mr. Tesser is an appointed member of the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Committee on Professional Discipline and is Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee of NYSBA’s Dispute Resolution Section. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Tesser has played music professionally as a drummer across the country, including at Carnegie Hall.
