Ana Ramirez Toft-Nielsen has over twelve years of experience in higher education services and providing legal research training and support to law schools and law firms. In her current position, she organizes, conducts, and trains incoming associates, laterals and partners in legal research techniques, strategies and litigation preparation. She received her my J.D. from the University of Miami and practiced in the areas of commercial litigation, business immigration and intellectual property. After practicing, she worked in the legal research area and later received a Masters in Library Sciences from Florida State University. In addition, she is an adjunct professor at Florida International University College of Law and an active member in the American Association of Law Libraries.

I. Evaluate, select, and use appropriate legal research tools with a particular emphasis on cost-effective research. | 2:00pm – 2:30pm
II. Construct a legal research plan and implement the plan using major legal sources, including, butnot limited to, Westlaw and LexisNexis. | 2:30pm – 3:00pm

III. Identify which resources to use, when and how the resources relate to one another, and whereto find various types of legal information and sources. | 3:10pm – 3:40pm
