Mauricio Uribe is the Chair of the Data Privacy and Protection practice group and the former chair of the Software/IT and Electrical practice group at Knobbe Martens.

Mauricio is well versed in patent prosecution matters and portfolio development, especially in software, electrical and telecommunication technologies. For more than 15 years, Mauricio has engaged in numerous licensing strategy and license negotiations for various clients, including standard essential patent licensing matters. Mauricio has helped clients set up licensing programs, identify and cultivate essential patent assets, develop responses to licensing offers and develop holistic licensing programs.

Mauricio is also a frequent lecturer on licensing topics including data privacy and protection, standards essential patents licensing programs, non-disclosure agreements, employment agreements, open-source software, etc. Mauricio is also a thought leader and frequent lecturer/author on various patent and Copyright topics, emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Distributed Ledger, etc.), trade secret, and additional IP topics.

Moish has been advising cryptocurrency ventures since 2014 and combines his knowledge of blockchain with a decade of IP and business law experience where he helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses and brands.Moish has been quoted in numerous publications on NFT- and blockchain-related matters, including: The Washington Post, NPR’s All Things Considered, Time, CoinDesk, ABA Journal, LA Magazine, TheStreet, and Law360. He has also presented at numerous conferences and webinars on related topics.

Moish’s practice encompasses both transactional and business litigation matters. His practice also focuses on U.S. and worldwide trademark prosecution and enforcement, including litigation before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). His previous experience includes working at a premier IP law firm where he acted as trial counsel in numerous contested IP matters before U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeal.
