Course Overview

The rules are moving — and the attackers are moving faster

2026-11-03 13:10:00

Given the rise in the use of AI and increased attacks on the healthcare sector, organizations must stay abreast of regulations — proposed and implemented — and of the threat vector landscape. This presentation delivers the current status of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Office for Civil Rights rulemaking, actual and proposed, and separates what is really changing from the myths.

The exposure is concrete. Threat actors are trending against healthcare targets. State laws are adding physician requirements in relation to AI. And the timing and content of HIPAA Privacy Rule and Security Rule updates are widely misunderstood — a gap this session closes.

Attendees leave with the myths dispelled, a read on the current threat actor landscape, and the makings of an adequate risk analysis that may combat attacks — plus cybersecurity strategies around AI and the potential areas of liability they must account for.
