Program Summary

This presentation will cover the basics of the Order of Protection including the statutory guidelines, the procedural steps to obtain one, the court processes and timeline, and the various outcomes. Additionally, we will cover the sociological factors related to abuse as well as the involvement of minor children.

The presentation will start by addressing the relevant statutes and outlining what abuse is. The presentation will then describe the procedural steps and the average timeline to obtain an Order of Protection and have a hearing for the Plenary Order of Protection. Finally, we will review the different remedies and follow steps regarding the entry of the Order of Protection.

The attendees will feel empowered with information to aid clients in one of the most delicate times of their lives.
