Program Summary

The intersection of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights and U.S. immigration laws presents a significant challenge for international student-athletes. While NIL opportunities allow student-athletes to monetize their personal brand, international students on F-1 visas must navigate complex regulations that can place them at risk of violating their immigration status. This CLE program aims to equip legal practitioners with the necessary knowledge and tools to advise international student-athletes, universities, and businesses on the evolving NIL landscape while ensuring compliance with immigration laws.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • The Emergence of NIL Rights
  • Immigration Law and NIL: Understanding the Conflict
  • Legal Challenges and Risks
  • Best Practices and Legal Strategies
  • The Future of NIL and Immigration Policy
