WC & SSD Offset - Why You Shouldn't Wait for or Ignore the Notice of Award

Before a Notice of Award arrives, attorneys must prepare the file, obtain Benefit Estimates, and secure ICERS, DEQY, and SEQY records. This session addresses how to evaluate case viability, counsel clients on reduced or eliminated benefits, explain why children lose auxiliary benefits, and navigate child support complications when offsets apply.

Requirements

The Alabama State Bar MCLE Commission requires attorneys to complete 12 credits, including 1 ethics, by December 31 of each year. All credits must be reported by February 15 of the following year. A maximum of 12 credits, including 1 ethics credit, may be carried over for 1 year only.
