Most people have a general familiarity with tax exempt status, especially 501c3 charitable exemption, but the application and approval process for exemption can be a confusing one. This workshop will cover the application process from identifying eligibility through receipt of a 501c3 letter from the IRS.

Alyssa Gross is an associate attorney at William C. Moran & Associates, PC, where she has practiced for six years. Prior to private practice, Alyssa was in-house counsel at a Buffalo-area nonprofit for 8 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University at Buffalo Law School.
Her practice focuses on corporate and nonprofit law, advising both types of entities throughout their life cycle from start up through operation to transition or sale, including commercial real estate matters, employee issues, obtaining tax exempt status for nonprofits, and purchase and sale of business entities.
Alyssa is a Cubmaster for her sons’ Cub Scout pack and coaches their baseball teams. She serves as Chairman of the Board for The Teacher’s Desk, and is on the board of directors of Lockport CARES, and for Kingdom Bound Ministries, all in the Western New York area. She is also a Director Consultant for Business Network International (BNI) in Western New York, and will be getting her black belt in taekwondo in April of 2023.
