Program Summary

High net worth divorce litigation involves the identification and valuation of complex financial assets. In order to effectively represent high net worth clients, attorneys must be fluent in financial processes and terminology, and confident enough to confront the financial experts on their own turf. This presentation will examine the important considerations in preparing for and conducting depositions of financial expert witness and will further examine how litigants and their attorneys can make best use of those depositions.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Understanding accounting and valuation terminology and processes
  • Effective preparation techniques for financial depositions
  • Honing in on discretion and opinion
  • Deposition strategy considerations for settlement or trial
