Why Attend

Why this
program matters

Mastering vocational evidence standards, occupational classification systems, and ALJ decision-building principles directly impacts claim outcomes where over 60% of initial applications are denied.
62%
Of initial Social Security disability applications were denied in 2024, highlighting the critical need to master Step 5 vocational challenges.
48%
Of Social Security disability appeals to federal court resulted in remand decisions over a seven-year period (FY 2014-2020), demonstrating the value of challenging ALJ reasoning.
12k+
Occupations are defined in the DOT, last updated in 1991, versus only 848 SOC groups used in modern ORS data—creating critical classification gaps practitioners must navigate.
2M+
Disability benefit applications are filed annually in the U.S., making vocational expert testimony and ALJ decision analysis foundational skills for disability practitioners.
