Program Summary

This course will cover often overlooked considerations and pitfalls in commercial transactions involving liquor regulated businesses, which can be catastrophic to the deal. Whether you represent an owner of a gas station who is buying a restaurant, or a multinational corporation licensing a trademark to a distillery, you must be aware of and carefully consider state and federal laws with respect to alcohol early, and at all stages of the transaction.

Mike Laszlo focuses his practice on business law and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on business disputes, torts, trade secret, trademark, liquor and other complex commercial disputes. Mike also focuses in the area of alcohol beverage law, including wine, beer and spirits, complex liquor licensing issues and hospitality. He has successfully prosecuted and defended local, national and global clients throughout the country, in state and federal courts including numerous appeals. Additionally, Mike has extensive experience in mediation and arbitration. He is a frequent speaker and commentator on alcohol beverage law and business and commercial law.

Community:

Mike Volunteers at the Federal Pro Se Clinic in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado where he assists unrepresented litigants in the civil litigation process and is member of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado Civil Pro Bono Panel.
