Why Attend

Why this
program matters

Social Security disability practice operates within one of the nation’s largest federal benefits systems, serving millions of claimants each year. Within this complex administrative framework, unusual procedural issues and unexpected case developments occur more often than practitioners expect. When they do, missteps can jeopardize benefits or trigger prolonged appeals. This session examines how attorneys can recognize and resolve these atypical SSD problems before they escalate.
75+ Million
Americans were receiving Social Security or Supplemental Security Income benefits as of early 2026. Large program scale means even rare procedural problems affect thousands of disability claims and create significant representation risk for attorneys.
11+ Million
Disabled individuals under age 65 were receiving Social Security or SSI benefits in 2025–2026. The size of this beneficiary population increases the frequency of unusual administrative issues that disability attorneys must address.
8.1 Million
People received Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits in 2025. Because SSDI eligibility hinges on complex medical and procedural requirements, unexpected claim developments frequently lead to disputes and appeals requiring legal intervention.
7.4 Million
Americans receive Supplemental Security Income benefits for disability or limited income. Representation errors or unresolved procedural problems in these cases can result in benefit loss, repayment liability, or prolonged administrative appeals.
