New Jersey CLE Requirements
CLE requirements for New Jersey attorneys.

Required credits
New Jersey attorneys are required to earn 24 credits every 2 years, including 5 credits in Ethics/Professionalism. At least 2 of those 5 must be in Diversity, Inclusion, and Elimination of Bias.

• Due date for CLE: Credits are due by December 31st.
• Reporting credits: All credits must be reported by December 31st.
• Reporting attendance: All NJ attorneys must self-report their credits online. They can do so on their NJ state bar account.

New Jersey attorneys are divided into two groups based on their birthdays:

• Group 1: Birthdays from January 1st to June 30th must complete their credits by 12/31 in odd-numbered years.
• Group 2: Birthdays from July 1st to December 31st must complete their credits by 12/31 in even-numbered years.

Self-Study/On-Demand credits
A minimum of 12.00 credit hours must be taken as live programs. However, this rule has been relaxed to allow all 24.00 credits to be taken as alternative learning programs until further notice.
