One of the challenges attorneys faces, and one that is not often given much attention in law school, is how to counsel clients through difficult dilemmas. Lawyers frequently have to advise clients who are choosing between several risky courses of action, balancing countervailing interests, or engaging (or asking that the lawyer engage) in unlawful conduct. This program will explore the ethical rules that govern such situations and suggest best practices and practice considerations.

Randall T. Tesser is an associate attorney at Tesser, Ryan & Rochman. Mr. Tesser obtained a Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2017 where he also received a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University.
Mr. Tesser primarily practices in, and frequently lectures on, professional responsibility matters, and has experience with administrative proceedings and appeals, trust and estate planning and administration, business contracts, and mediation. Mr. Tesser is an appointed member of the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Committee on Professional Discipline and is Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee of NYSBA’s Dispute Resolution Section. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Tesser has played music professionally as a drummer across the country, including at Carnegie Hall.
