Over the course of his career, Jon has experience providing tax advice to clients ranging from global public companies to start-ups and individuals facing complex tax situations. Jon’s current practice focuses on U.S. tax matters for: mergers & acquisitions (especially venture-backed private companies), formation and operation of private investment funds, cryptocurrency, foreign corporations entering the U.S., individuals expatriating from the U.S., and business restructurings. For over five years, Jon has been actively involved in advising crypto funds and blockchain projects on a variety of tax matters, including crypto compensation and the creation and sale of new cryptocurrency products.

Jon began his career at the global law firm Linklaters, based in London, and practiced for several years at the New York office of Dechert. Before joining Scale, Jon was a founding partner of a corporate boutique law firm based in San Francisco.

Alexander Lindgren advises technology and investment clients on regulatory and transactional matters, and has worked with clients in the blockchain & cryptocurrency sectors since 2016. Mr. Lindgren’s practice ranges from software based start-ups to private investment funds focusing on cryptocurrency trading or technology acquisitions. In addition to counseling his clients on strictly legal matters such as investment regulation, corporate formation, and product development, Mr. Lindgren takes pride in developing a deep working relationship with companies and their executive team. He works with them in developing their business strategy, bringing his expertise as both an attorney and an entrepreneur to help his clients realize their visions with efficiency and security.

Mr. Lindgren earned his law degree with honors from the University Of Minnesota, where he specialized in intellectual property and securities transactions. He has since pioneered the development of LLOY’s fintech and cryptocurrency group. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Lindgren worked in pharmaceutical research and development, conducting clinical trials and pre-clinical drug development for Alzheimer’s disease and other chronic conditions. Mr. Lindgren went on to co-found a series of biotechnology startup companies prior to entering the legal profession. In addition to his articles and publications on cryptocurrency regulation and institutional investment, he has been published on subjects as diverse as oncological treatment methodology, California National Guard governance, and historical constitutional analysis.
