Program Summary

In this presentation we will cover Regulation F, the FDCPA’s implementing regulation that was recently issued, also the history of the FDCPA and the scope and purpose of the regulation. We will be discussing the specific areas where the regulation further clarifies portions of the FDCPA or speaks to modern communication technology such as email and text messages.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • The regulation’s new approach to communications generally, including the concept of the limited content message
  • The regulation’s approach to modern technology such as email and text messages
  • A model debt validation letter for use by debt collectors
  • A discussion of the cases that have been decided since the regulation was issued that make holdings about the regulation and alleged violations
