North Carolina CLE Requirements
CLE requirements for North Carolina attorneys.

Required credits
North Carolina attorneys are required to earn 12 credits every year, including 2 credits in Professional Responsibility (Ethics) or Professionalism, 1 credit on Technology Training (effective in 2019), and 1 credit on Substance Abuse every 3 years.

  • Due date for CLE: All credits are due by December 31st.
  • Reporting credits: All credits must be reported by February 28th.
  • Reporting attendance: myLawCLE reports attendance to the North Carolina State Bar.

Self-Study/On-Demand credits
All credits can be taken as live or on-demand programs (effective since 2020).
