Program Summary

Washington, D.C.-based attorney Peter C. Grenier is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who has amassed more than $500,000,000.00 in verdicts and settlements. With a splash of wit and humor, he will share the tactics that he has developed over the past 35 years in negotiating settlements with “hardball” insurance adjusters, which have led to blockbuster results for his clients. This includes the “ingredients” that go into the development of a personal injury case from inception through negotiation, including: the design of the case; the strategic use of experts along the way; periodic and strategic interactions with the insurance adjuster; the preparation and presentation of a powerful and compelling demand package; and, ultimately, the negotiation of a successful resolution.

He will teach the practitioner how to think outside the box in ways that will maximize the client’s compensation. These methods can be used in personal injury cases of all sizes. The materials will include actual demand letters used in Mr. Grenier’s cases.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Designing the personal injury case from day 1
  • Defining (and breaking down) the injuries
  • Getting the experts early
  • Strategic interactions with the insurance adjuster
  • The science/psychology/advocacy/puffery/imagery of a powerful demand package
  • Anticipating and preempting the typical adjuster tactics
  • The tools and art of the successful negotiation/mediation – turning the “hardball” adjuster into your advocate
